Mission & Vision

A Place to Be Proud of Where People Achieve Their Full Potential.

NHCF was created to lead long-term regeneration shaped by local people. Built on strong partnerships and community-led decisions, NHCF has helped transform North Huyton into a more vibrant, opportunity-filled borough. Our mission and vision continue to guide our work as we build a neighbourhood residents are proud to call home.

Our Vision

Originally established in 2001 through being one of central government’s New Deal for Communities (NDC) programme, this vision was shaped by the Partnership, a collective group of resident representatives, public sector agencies, voluntary organisations, faith groups, community groups and local businesses.

Residents aspired to live in a neighbourhood they would be proud of, one with a strong sense of identity and opportunity. The goal was to build a place that functioned well on its own and within the wider locality, where people could thrive and reach their goals.

Research in 2000 revealed that two layers of change were needed: improvements to the place itself and improvements to people’s chances in life.

Over the last 24 years, significant progress has been made to achieve this vision, through large-scale regeneration and infrastructure projects, all underpinned by community involvement and partnership working.

NHCF remains committed to evolving with the needs of North Huyton, driving new initiatives and ongoing programmes, that ensure the area continues to improve for generations to come.

Our Mission

NHCF exists to lead and support the continuous improvement of North Huyton, delivering multi-phase regeneration programmes that create lasting, positive change.

We work closely with residents, local organisations and public sector partners to address the key areas identified by the Partnership: health, education, crime, employment, housing, communication, youth development and community participation.

This multi-faceted approach has led to:

  • Modern affordable housing
  • New and improved schools
  • Accessible local community centres
  • Improved access to jobs, skills and training
  • Enhanced safety through additional policing and prevention
  • Environmental improvements and green space development

Through strong partnerships with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC), LIVV Housing, local schools, faith groups, and voluntary organisations, NHCF has been able to achieve shared goals and champion progress from the ground up.

We continue to drive programmes forward, with a clear focus on maximising both financial investment and social value, whilst empowering local people, strengthening neighbourhood identity and supporting a resilient, sustainable future.
