Grants

At NHCF, we offer small grants of £300–£500 to support established community groups making a positive difference in the former New Deal for Communities (NDC) neighbourhoods of North Huyton.

These grants help voluntary, community and faith-led organisations deliver projects that tackle local needs, from youth activities and mental health support to food provision and social clubs. Many of these groups operate from our two community hubs: Hillside Neighbourhood Centre and The Gate Centre.

In addition, we provide regular financial support to L14 Community Group Ltd and HIYA (Huyton Initiative 4 Youth Activities) for youth and community activities and management of our centres.

Supporting Real Local Impact

Through our Small Change, Big Difference scheme, around a dozen local groups currently receive funding each year. These grants have supported:

  • Community outreach tackling isolation
  • Equipment for skills workshops and health groups
  • Enriching excursions
  • Luncheon clubs and wellbeing sessions
  • Youth clubs and holiday activities

Small groups achieve big outcomes, and funding has helped these local organisations to stay active, keep putting on activities and evolve to meet the needs of residents, increasing participation in the area.
